The Kid Movie Plot
The Kid movie follows 13-year-old Rio and his older sister as they escape from their abusive father after Rio shoots him dead during a scuffle with his mother. Having no time to grieve their mother’s death, the two are running away from their uncle Gareth who is determined to avenge his brother’s death.
With Santa Fe as their destination, the two set out on the wild west and are discovered by Billy The Kid and his cohorts, when resting for a night in an enclosure. As luck would have it, they are accosted the next morning by Sheiff Pat Garrett, who reluctantly agrees to help then reach Santa Fe.
Rio soon finds himself increasingly entwined in the lives of these two legendary figures as the cat and mouse game of Billy the Kid’s final year of life plays out. Ultimately Rio is forced to choose which type of man he is going to become, the outlaw or the man of valor, and will use this self-realization in a final act to save his family.
