If the first part of this decade was about superhero and comic character TV Shows, the second clearly is about characters from the fantasy world. In what sounds like a story built on the X-Men formula, The Innocents Netflix series follows two youngsters as they discover their hidden abilities that put their lives and dangers and test their love for each other.

Hania Elkington and Simon Duric writes this new Netflix series about a shape-shifting teenagers in love as they battle the world. Farren Blackburn directs the series episodes that premieres in August. The first season includes eight episodes of 60 minutes each.

The Innocents Netflix Series Plot
The Innocents series on Netflix follows June and Harry as they fight for love. The series begins with June and Harry running away from their repressive families. Deeply in love they escape from them to stay together and keep their love alive. However, running and under stress, they discover that June is a shape shifter.
While the struggle to digest this new information, they stumble across a professor who tells them that June is not alone and there are many more like her. He lures them with a promise to cure June and reunite her with her estranged mother.
As the star-crossed lovers are pursued by multiple enemies who want to capture them, they must decide if their innocent dream of a world and life full of love is still worth fighting in the new reality.
The Innocents Netflix Series Review
The Innocents, set in Scotland, brings a good mysterious setting to the story. The show raises interest early on with a father trying to hide things from his children and a rebellious teen. By the end of the first episode you are hit with another surprise as the girl changes her appearance, without any explanation.
Although, the series comes with enough intrigue and surprises peppered over the episode, it somehow lacks to reel you in and make you hungry for more. The performances appear flat and the very setting that brings mystery, also brings a bland feel to the whole drama.
