While some communities many look a bit rough from the outside and not fit into our view of sophistication or complement our rosy world view, it is the relationships between the members that make these better than most. While affluent suburbs with its manicured lawns and clean walls present a pretty picture, the internal turmoil and competition is often palpable. The Heights TV series on ABC Australia brings us a look at a community from the city center that is fighting to protect their way of life against gentrification.

The Slice of Life drama comes with an ensemble cast with families from different ethnicity and their inter-relationships in urban Australia. The series comes with 30 episodes and premiers on 22 February 2019.

The Heights Series Plot
The Heights is a serial drama about a community trying to protect its way of life, while under the constant threat of gentrification and the social stratification of its neighbourhood.
The ‘slice of life’ drama explores the relationships, work lives and everyday challenges faced by six families living in the Arcadia social housing tower and the gentrifying inner-city district that surrounds it – Arcadia Heights.
The series follows the Murphy family with Hazel Murphy mother of Ryan and Shannon running a local pub; the Tran family with single mother Iris Tran who came over as a refugee from Vietnam and lives with her gay son; Pavlovic and Leoni who are separated, with their children; the Rosso’s and others.
We meet these myriad characters as their lives are intertwined and cross paths at Arcadia Heights.

Episode 1
The residents of Arcadia Towers are left reeling after an abandoned baby is discovered. Hazel is stunned when her estranged son Ryan returns from London. Leonie struggles with Mich’s desire to move in with his dad.
Episode 2
With Shannon identified as the abandoned baby’s mother, Hazel and Ryan are desperate for answers. Sabine navigates her first day at Arcadia High. Sully invites Ash to dinner with Iris – with disastrous consequences.
Episode 3
Ryan and Hazel race to find Shannon as social services gets involved. A smitten Sully buys Ash’s affection. Pav and Claudia are unable to deny their attraction. Leonie reluctantly allows Mich to move into the towers.
