What is worse? Not having a family and living alone, or moving from one Home to another, getting transfered just when you think you have settled in. Foster kids have a tough life. Most will be scarred for life if they do not find a decent place to settle in, early on. On the lines of Freeform’s ‘The Fosters’ comes a new movie The Great Gilly Hopkins directed by Stephen Herek. The movie is based on Katherine Paterson’s book by the same name, which as published in 1978. However, the movie is adapted to represent the current times.

You cannot compalin about Gilly Hopkins' behavior. She is headed to another foster home. This constant moving around has made her mean and brash. She instantly dislikes her new foster mother, Ms. Trotter (Kathy Bates) and starts scheming mean plans. At the same time, she secretly harbors desire to find and get in contact with her birth mother, whom she has never met. New place, new school, new teachers, Gilly Hopkins is in for a lot of adjustments, not to forget a new little brother. Determined to like none, Gilly Hopkins soon begins to find that she actually has a family now. When her nana comes to get her, she no longer wants to leave the Trotter house.
