The Giver movie falls short of the book, but then movies are rarely ever measure up to a book. The purists will have to decide for themselves if they want to see this adaptation of the Lois Lowry classic that is often discussed in middle schools. As the title character, Jeff Bridges is the only actor who gets enough time to build the character.
