The Affair Book Plot

The Affair book begins with a tragic accident as the family of four – Justin, his wife Alicia and siblings Sophie and Lucas – are on their way to begin a new day. Lucas dies in the horrific accident when another van hits their car and the driver runs away.

At the funeral Justin sees a man, Paul, from Alicia’s past talking to her and his old insecurities resurface. He confronts Alica’s sister Jessica about Paul and Alicia’s old affair and if Sophie is his daughter. Not getting a strong No from Jessica, Paul assumes the worst. Meanwhile Sophie hears this conversation and runs away from home.

However, Paul seizes this opportunity and manipulates Sophie to come with him and holds he in his flat. Justin still unsure about the truth is devastates about losing Sophie, the daughter he brought up, and does everything to save her.

The Affair book is a classic Thriller-Drama. The book begins with painting a happy family that is devastated by a tragic accident. But then their is more pain to come. The drama of the first part takes a thrilling turn as truth comes out of the woodwork. Fast-paced and with a few twists and turns, the book promises to be a good read for those who like to read psychological thrillers. Some might complain that there aren’t many surprises in the end, but it is still and interesting read and will keep you turning the pages.
