The Star Trek franchise is back with its thirteenth movie installment and third in the reboot series. Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella join the existing team of Pine, Quinto, and Cho in Star Trek Beyond.

USS Enterprise has docked on Yorktown for resupply. The crew is not in a happy mood, after a long period of isolation. Spock no longer is in a relationship with uhura, Captain Kirk is getting bored of the monotony, and Scott's challenges of keeping the ship stocked are increasing by the day.

Star Trek Beyond critics ReviewsStar Trek Beyond (2016)

Director: Justin Lin Stars: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban While at Yorktown, the Enterprise is tricked into helping a damaged ship near an unknown planet. But as they reach theor destination, they are attacked by a warlord who is hunting for a missing part from a bio weapon, which is on the USS Enterprise. The warlord Krall survives by murdering his captives and getting the life force out of them - reminds you of Takahaya from The Last Ship. The USS ENterprise personnel must now find a way to stay alive and neutralize the threat posed by Krall to Yorktown. The plot seems simple enough and has all the ingredients of a good action movie. You have threat, numerous innocent lives to save, there is an expiry to how much time you have to diffuse the threat. The thing is, this happens in space on an alien planet with an alien race. Has the Star Trek been able to make this entertaining? Let's hear what the critics have to say about that. Barry Hertz at The Globe and Mail thinks it is the "Most balanced blockbuster of the summer". He thinks the movie is more than just an action flick with enough space to develop characters and bring back the old Star Trek elements like camaraderie among the crew.  But that doesn't mean that the action is bad, it is still the strongest part of the movie. Jake Wilson at The Age thinks the movie is pretty banal, but does get back the spirit of the Star Trek TV series. He thinks the movie does well when it comes to space imagery and spectacular sets that we all love to watch and imagine. Rob Carnevale at IndieLondon echoes other critics when he says that the movie doesn't experiment with anything new, but does get the Star Trek feel right. He points out that Scotty hogs most of the screen time which takes away from the ensemble cast of the movie. Performance by Zachary Quinto and the new addition Socia Boutella are impressive. In Summary, the movie has big, impressive sets and visuals, action is not bad, and the movie sticks to its original brief. With good performance, the Star Trek fans will love this new installment of other worldly action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRVD32rnzOw
