Size 12 is Not Fat book by Meg Cabot is the first in the series, and we are just getting to know the different characters. Like Magda, the cafeteria lady, the security guard, the homicide detective, not to mention Connor – Heather’s employer cum roommate. Not to forget a fawning teenager with a crush on Heather and an ‘always angry with the world’ assistant.

Size 12 is Not Fat Book Plot
Heather Wells is a ‘has been’. Fancy recording contract, tiny waist, dishy rocker fiancée, not to mention the fortune she earned growing up on a tour bus while singing in malls – she has lost it all! Heather is trying to rebuild her life, and has taken a low paying job working at a dorm ( oops, residence hall) in New York’s finest university. Then bodies start dropping. Literally! Down the elevator shaft. By way of some trendy game called elevator surfing which involves jumping off the top of one moving elevator to another. And if you miss? Well, you know where you will end up then!
Saying anything more would be a spoiler.
Size 12 is Not Fat Book Review
This is a trip down memory lane for anyone who has experienced the whole living or working at a residence hall thing. Or worked in any capacity at a big university, really. Every time I read these books, part of me is conjuring up happy memories of carefree days, and the other part is biting nails as bodies drop and Heather’s life gets more dramatic. I totally recommend this and any other book in the Heather Wells series. It’s a blast! Anything that combines suspense and humor is, in my book.
Oh BTW, did I mention Size 12 is actually Size Zero?
