Self Reliance movie on Hulu is a bizarre comedy that revolves around a lonely man and a dark online game that puts him in the cross hairs.
Movie Plot
The movie follows Tommy, a lonely man who is out on his luck. He is living with his mom and trying hard to get out of the rut. Getting bored, Tommy decides to enter a reality game on the dark web, introduced by a limo driver.
He soon realizes that he has signed up to become a target of some human hunters. If he manages to stay alive at the end of 30 days, he earns one million dollars. Tommy sees easy money and a chance to get out of his mother’s home.
But his plan backfires when none of his friends and family believe that the game is real and refuse to hang out with him.
Tommy must now find a companion who will stay with him for the rest of the days of the game as he fights tooth and nail for his life.
