Summer is just round the corner. Long days of summer always remind me of lazing around a cup of coffee and nibble at some finger food with a few friends. The meetings invariably stretch as the twilight. The Flour Works has some exciting sandwiches that you can dig into as your meetings stretch.
I recently tasted the Grilled Chicken with Roast Onion on their menu. The grilled chicken tossed in the slightly caramelized onion juices was mild and just the taste I would want on a hot day.

Wanowrie has a bunch of cafes. Green valley has almost ten to fifteen small coffee and sandwich shops in a radius of a KM that you can hang out at. The Flour Works has a full menu restaurant in Kalyani Nagar. The Wanowrie outlet, although a bit small, is a nice place to catch up with your friend or grab a quick lunch. The menu gives you a good choice of salads and sandwiches and there is a huge list of beverages that you can try.

With prickly heat, summers also make you yearn for those refreshing cool drinks and salads. The Watermelon and Feta salad is the perfect choice to hydrate yourself. And The Ginger Lemon Iced Tea can keep your thirst at bay for some time and has huge benefits in summer.
But I can’t do without coffee. Hot or cold, you have enough choice to take one you like. With most cafe menus looking similar, The Flour Works gives you some new options like the Vietnamese or popularly known as the Iced Vietnamese Coffee.

While the coffee blend is not different than other coffees on the menu, it is the way the coffee is served. Vietnamese coffee – Ca Phe Nau or Ca Phe Sau – as it is known in Vietnam, is served with condensed milk instead of fresh milk or cream. So you can start with some strong, bitter black coffee to get those drooping eyelids up and then give it a real swirl to enjoy the sweeter version later.
And if you are in the mood for a hot version, do try Mexican Majik, It has a strong Cinnamon taste with a hint of dark chocolate, I think. Whatever the secret ingredient is this one surely is worth a try.
The bakery also offers a range of pastries and some other stuff like Biscotti that you won’t find much around in other shops. What I liked most of the bakery was the fresh bread and a Baguette that was hard, which for some reason is very rare around here.
So next time you are in the area and looking for a quick bite, or in the mood for a salad, give them a visit.
