Christmas might be behind us, and with no Hallmark movies on the horizon, the Christmas movie withdrawal symptoms will soon be evident. But the network surely has plans to help you tide over those with another fairy tale romance this week in Royal New Year’s Eve movie on the Hallmark Channel. The movie follows fashion designer Caitlyn as she is tasked to assist a Prince and a Lady for the New Year’s ball.

Royal New Year’s Eve Plot
Royal New Year’s Eve movie revolves around Caitlyn and the visiting prince. Aspiring fashion designer Caitlyn (Jessy Schram) is an assistant to high-powered fashion magazine editor-in-chief Abigail (Cheryl Ladd). When the magazine prepares to host a fashion show a New Year’s Eve ball, it is rumored that visiting Prince Jeffrey (Sam Page) will propose to Lady Isabelle (Hayley Sales).
Abigail intends to push her daughter Leighton’s (Nicole Laplaca) fashion career by convincing Isabelle to wear one of her designs to the ball. However, while helping Abigail and Isabelle plan, Caitlyn meets Prince Jeffrey and believes he is a messenger – and later a cater waiter – not a prince.
Abigail’s plans are disrupted when Caitlyn wears one of her own designs. It impresses Isabelle and she hires Caitlyn to design her dress for the ball. Abigail decides to sabotage Caitlyn. Caitlyn leaves her phone behind at the event. When Jeffrey goes to Caitlyn’s apartment to return it, the two go out for coffee. They then run into Isabelle, who reveals Jeffrey’s royal status.
Caitlyn spends time with Jeffrey planning the event. She opens his eyes to regular life, and he reveals that he sometimes wonders what his life would be life without his royal obligations. Caitlyn and Jeffrey start to fall for each other – Caitlyn confiding in her friend Doris (Crystal Balint) and Jeffrey confiding in his butler Barnaby (Andrew Kavadas). Jeffrey’s obligation to marry Isabelle in order to assume the throne, though, keeps them from pursuing their feelings.
At her dress fitting, Isabelle notices the chemistry between Caitlyn and Jeffrey. She later reminds Jeffrey that she understands his world and will be his support when he is king. At Isabelle’s behest, King Richard (Gerald Plunkett) approaches Caitlyn to tell her how important it is that Jeffrey marry Isabelle. Caitlyn, though, impresses the king with her outspoken free will.
With so many enemies and vested interest will Caitlyn and Jeffery be to get over the hurdles and continues to believe in each other’s love?
