‘Poisoned Love movie’ on Lifetime follows Stacey Castor and looks at the events leading up to her becoming a suspect in multiple murders.

Stacey Castor weathered the storm of her first husband’s death and managed to find love again with her boss, David.

But when David is discovered dead of an apparent suicide, the police suspect some foul play, as David’s death mimics that of Stacey’s first husband.

As the evidence begins to fall into place, a suicide attempt by her daughter Ashley further complicates the investigation. Was Stacey a victim of a tragic circumstances or a Black Widow out for the attack?

Michael Vickerman, Cindi Riddle & Peter Hunziker adapt this true story based on the Stacey Castor case. Jim Donovan directs the movie with Nia Vardalos in the lead role. The Stacey Castor Story movie premieres on February 1 2020.

The Stacey Castor Case Facts

  • Stacey Marries her first husband Wallace in 1990 and had two daughters Ashely and Bree.
  • She confessed that Wallace was popular, but struggled with drugs and alcohol addiction
  • Wallace died in Jan 2000 ten years after their wedding, when Stacey was contemplating a divorce. Stacey didn’t encourage or force an autopsy of an otherwise healthy Wallace. Wallace was 38 and left a $55,000 insurance policy.
  • Stacey remarried to David in August 2003 and also had a son from his previous marriage.
  • Stacey’s daughters didn’t get on well with David.
  • David died in August 2005. Death was initially thought to be suicide. He left everything to Stacey and her daughters in the will.
  • David’s body was later exhumed in September 2007 and revealed traces of antifreeze in the organs.
  • Her daughter was later found comatose with a suicide note confessing to killing her father and step-father. She later denied writing the note.
