As the fall 2018 premiere season kicks off, NBC brings many of its favorite Chicago franchise shows this week. New Amsterdam TV Show on NBC is a medical drama set in Bellevue hospital. Now in shambles, its new director is determined to restore the name to its former glory.

The only one in the world capable of treating Ebola patients, prisoners from Rikers, and the President of the United States under one roof, Dr. Goodwin is determined to return it to the glory that put it back on the map.

New Amsterdam is a medical show with lot of heart. It has its thrilling moments like Code Black and some diagnostic aha moments like House MD, but at its core the series addresses what the health care world often forgets – the patients and care.
The series begins with dramatic and aggressive moves by the new medical director who wants to put the patients at the center of all decisions. The performances by the actors come across as flawless as it moves through the different shades in an engaging narrative that will make you smile, sad, tense in the 40 odd minutes.
So if you are bored of watching larger than life, savant doctor characters, this series gives you a story that is closer to reality.
