The file threw light on the fact that Gold and money collected by the INA for the war effort worth crores at the time had gone missing post Netaji’s death in the crash. The files not only revealed that the treasure was lost, but also indicate how the then government denied a probe or inquiry into the whereabouts of the treasure. In spite of repeated requests and information about embezzlement of the INA treasure, the government decided to look the other way and also appointed the man accused of embezzlement to an important post in the government.
