In this season of TV revivals and reboots, there is another 80s sitcom that is making its way to your TV screens. This one comes from CBS. The original show ran from 1988 to 1988 and followed a investigative journalist and her team. Murphy Brown Revival comes with new 13-episode season will premiere on CBS in Fall 2018.

The new reboot was announced by CBS earlier this year with most of the original cast getting together for the new version. The show has also roped in new actor Nik Dodani who plays a new character on the show as Director of Social Media for the news program. Also joining the team is Jake McDorman.

McDorman will play Avery, Murphy’s (Candice Bergen) millennial journalist son who is following in his mother’s footsteps, perhaps too closely, and has his mother’s competitive spirit and quick wit.

Candice Bergen shared the first look of the original cast from the sets of the revival in Instagram with the cast members.

During the show’s original 10-year run on CBS, MURPHY BROWN received 62 Emmy nominations (with 18 wins), 15 Golden Globe nominations (with three wins), three Screen Actors Guild awards, five Directors Guild nominations (with two wins) and four Writers Guild nominations (with two wins). Bergen won five Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.
