Pavan Malhotra is back as an investigator in another movie this year. This time as a CBI officer in Missing On a Weekend. The movie is set in Goa and looks at the rising problem of crime connected to the drug trade in the state. Missing On a Weekend is scheduled to release on 26th August 2016. A popular tourist destination, the movie begins in the backdrop of rising crime reports the go as far as comparing it to Delhi in terms of crime.
When a group of friends form New Delhi travel to Goa for a weekend, their life takes an ugly turn. With only one surviving, who is hurt and suffering from temporary amnesia, the police have a lot to piece together.

Missing On a Weekend Story
Police find Laksh unconscious on Calangute beach. He has partial memory loss and there is a deep wound on his head. Slowly, he remembers and tells the police that he has been staying at the Morjim resort. When the investigation team reaches the resort, they find a body in Laksh's room. Soon, another body of a girl is found on a beach.
As police try to piece together the events of the preceding night and find Laksh's friends missing, he becomes the prime suspect. There is also a possibility of the local drug lord being involved in this bloody trail. Ali Ansari (pavan Malhotra) from CBI is handed over the case to find the missing pieces in this puzzle.
Missing on a Weekend Review
Pawan Malhotra (Ali Ansari)plays the role of hard-nosed policeman well and performance by debutante Karan Hariharn (Laksh) is best among the lot. The tension during interrogation between Malhotra and Karan keeps you glues to the screen and keeps you invested in the movie.
The movie is paced well, except for a couple of item songs that it could have easily done without. For crime enthusiasts who love to watch endless episodes of murder mystery serials, the movie brings a refreshing plot. If you can forgive an occasional waywardness and quirks of Bollywood movies, this could definitely prove to be a better option, compared to
A Flying Jatt.
