Mirzya movie is scheduled to release on October 7th 2016 with Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher in lead roles. The movie is a love story based on the epic Punjabi folk story of Mirza and Sahiban. Shankar Ehsan and Loy have composed the Mirzya soundtrack, which is a very important part of this love saga along with the poems penned by Gulzar.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra comes with the new movie after nearly three years after Bhag Milkha Bhag, which was a sports movie based on the life of Milkha Singh and won many awards including the National Award for popular film. Gulzar writes this adaptation for the movie.

Mirzya Movie Story
At the core, Mirzya is a love story. It is also a tale of unfulfilled love because of family feuds and class differences. The film tells us two stories in parallel timelines. I am thinking this will be similar to what audiences saw and liked in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Rang De Basanti. As then, the director seems to blend the two timelines effortlessly to narrate the legend along with a love story in contemporary times as bow and arrows are replaced by guns and horses are replaced by bikes.
