Online platforms to rent rooms, homes, and buy stuff are a boon. But these platforms also often bring uninvited guests in the garb of well wishers. Alison Peters is in dire straits and decides to let a part of her house to earn some extra cash. But that opens up an entirely new can of worms in The Killer Downstairs movie on Lifetime this week.

The Killer Downstairs Movie Plot
The Killer Downstairs movie follows Alison as she is trying hard to make ends meet. Alison has tried to do all the right things in her life. She studies hard to become a lawyer but failed to find a job that could boost her life.
Now, dejected, she is stuck in grocery store job and struggling with debt and her finances. When an idea to rent out her basement strikes, Alison jumps on the opportunity and lists the room online.
James Brewer, recently split from his wife, is looking for just the kind of place, cheap but homely. The two begin to connect and find comfort in each other. Alison also confesses to James that her boss, Brandon, is harassing her at work.
When Brandon is found murdered, the police pick Alison as their prime suspect. But when more people around Alison begin to vanish, Alison begins to wonder if her own life is in danger, and from whom?
