Kedarnath Music Review
Amit Trivedi has given us some great tracks over the years and this album is one of the best ones to come out in 2018, perhaps. The album begins aptly with Namo Namo, an ode to lord Shiva. The track is uplifting and upbeat. Like many of his sufi songs, Trivedi captures the spirit and you will love to listen to this track he also sings.
Qaafirana is a romantic track that liberally uses santoor and that brings a fresh feel to the track. Arijit sings the song well but his voice doesn’t seem to compliment too well to the composition. But it is still one of the better tracks from the album.
Sweetheart sung by Dev Negi has more of a folksy flavor and begins with an introduction that will remind you tracks about Holi and Bhang songs that Bollywood has churned out over the years. Not the kind of song that you will put on repeat though.
Jaan Nisaar, the second romantic track of the movie is a melodious pop-style composition that you would like to slow dance to. However, here to Arijit’s singing seems a bit odd. This song is also sung by Asees Kaur and comes across better and more melodious than the male version.
MovieRecipe Verdict: An above average album that you will not turn off, but doesn’t give you tracks that you will want to put on repeat.
MovieRecipe Pick: Namo, Namo; Qaafiraana
