Avdhoot Gupte comes back with another Action-Drama after movies like Morya and Zenda. Kanha movie is scheduled to release on 26th August 2016. Sachin Darekar writes the story of the movie along with Avdhoot Gupte. The movie explores the passion and politics played around the age-old tradition of Dahi Handi in Mumbai. Avdhoot Gupte also composes Kanha music for the movie, which shows a lot of promise, based on the glimpses from the trailer.
Dahi Handi is a tradition in which a group of boys, also fondly called Govindas, build a human pyramid to break the earthen pot to mark the birth anniversary of lord Krishna.

Kanha Movie Story
The movie plays out in the backdrop of a cloud over Dahi Handi celebrations of 2015 when a 29 year old Govinda died while trying to break the Dahi Handi. The movie shows that the government has since then banned building a nine layer human pyramid - which also marks the World Record from 2012. Since then, the government has classified the tradition as Adventure Sport and set some stringent guidelines, including age limits.
Not paying heed to government restrictions, two groups lead by Malhar (Vaibhav Tatwawadi) and Raghu (Gashmeer Mahajani) have decided to challenge the world record and form a human pyramid with Nine layers or more. At the center of this all is Kanha, a 12 year old who must climb to the top to make the feat possible.
