Kaabil Music Review – How good are the songs?
I like Rajesh Roshan’s music, mostly because it is simple and melodious. 2016 saw a spate of remixes of old Hindi movie songs, but most didn’t come out too well. However we cannot say the same about Haseeno Ka Deewana. This remix of the old Yaarana number is fast and catchy and takes the original song a notch up. Raftaar’s rap also slides in quite well and is tolerable.
Kaabil Hoon banks on simple rhythms as the director uses western beats over traditional percussion instruments to give the song a contemporary feel. Kuch Din is another original romantic number in the movie. The lyrics of the song are too simple and the tune too doesn’t inspire a lot. The song is not something that will linger on your mind or have you humming. Vishal Dadlani sings Mon Amour, which means Pretty Woman in Spanish, with energy and the right spirit. The song has distinctive Spanish flavor and will have you tapping feet to the traditional rhythms.
As good as the first remix int he album is, the one from Julie is a disaster. Why not make new track if you cannot make an existing one better?
