Jumanji is one of those movies that you have to know of if you grew up in the 80s and 90s. Humorous, thrilling, and imaginative it was a movie that you didn’t want to end. Now, Dwayne Johnson, who also serves as the EP of the film, brings another Jumanji adventure that shows the other side of the game. The actor says that the first movie brought the jungle to our world, Jumanji – Welcome to the Jungle movie takes us into the world of Jumanji, in a new avatar.

Based on the fantasy books by Chris Van Allsburg, the new movie is written by Chris McKenna and incorporates the modern with a new twist to the story. The board game is replaced with a video game as the players take new avatars and their powers and try to outwit the game.

Jumanji – Welcome to the Jungle movie follows four teenagers – Spencer, Bethany, Fridge, and Martha – as they are thrown into the world of Jumanji. Diametrically opposite to each others these four teenagers are thrown into detention. Trapped in the dingy room, they stumble upon an old video game.
While tinkering with the old game console, they are pulled into the game and the world of Jumanji. They soon realize that their only option to survive this alternate world and come out of the game is to finish the game.
They must learn about their game avatars, their unique powers and strengths and weaknesses to stay ahead and move through the various obstacles. Spencer becomes Dr. Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson) who is fearless, fast, and a weapons expert. A persona completely different than Spencer who is allergic and very nervous.
Bethany, school’s queen bee becomes genius Dr. Shelly Oberon – a cartographer, archaeologist, and a paleontologist – and has the responsibility to navigate all through the game. The queen bee is suddenly a plump, curvey man named Sheldon (Jack Black).
Join this motley crew of teenagers they each try to overcome their blocks and the weaknesses of their persona’s trying to finish what they started.
