Icarus Synopsis
Bryan Fogel inadvertently kick-started Icarus when he decided to investigate use performance enhancement drugs by taking them himself and then trying to evade detection. During the course of his experiment, he met Dr. Grigory Rodchenkov who was leading Russia’s anti-doping lab at the time. The documentary then shifts the focus on Dr. Redchenkov, with the Russian doping scandal unraveling in the background, who is on his way to the US. What follows is a series of interviews and appearances in which Dr. Rodchenkov outlines the details of Russia’s State-Sponsored doping program that helped athletes enhance performance. he is now under the protection of the US government.
