House of Dragon is the new series on HBO that will premiere later this year. The series is a prequel to the award winning, fan favorite Game of Thrones that hogged the Emmys for years. The series story will be in the same universe, but in a different timeline.
What is House of Dragon on HBO About?
House of Dragon series follows the House of Targaryen and takes you back in time when it all started.
The prequel begins some 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones. We see King Viserys is chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the old King Jaehaerys Targarye()n. However, a kind and decent man that he is, all he wants is to carry forward the legacy of his grandfather. But there are hidden enemies who have something more sinister at heart.
His confidante is Amicent Hightower, the daughter of Hand of the King. Known for her courtly grace and political acumen, will she be able to protect her new King?
Commanding the King’s Navy is Lord Corlys Velaryon aka “The Sea Snake”. Unrivaled in riches and fame, her rules the seas and claims the largest navy in the world.
As far as the hand of the King goes, the biggest threat to the King in this world is his brother, a natural successor to the throne. And with cunning Mysaria at his side, it is a formidable challenge.
