I am bored of the red sauce, but not of the Pizza. Moreover, the off the shelf pizza sauce that we get here taste just like Tomato ketchup. I would rather use the Ragu pasta sauce, which is much better than the most pizza sauce bottles I have tried.
Anyway, you get the point. I was craving for a Pizza, and also had the pre-baked Pizza base on hand. So after taking stock of the what was available on hand, I decided to use the basil and Paneer and bake a Basil sauce Pizza for an evening snack.
Basil Pizza Sauce Recipe
Combine all the ingredients and grind them to form a thick paste. Use water only if needed.
Basil Pizza sauce Ingredients
2 Cups Fresh basil Leaves
4 Tbsp Magaj/Magaz Seeds, or Melon Seeds
1 Tbsp Sesame seeds
1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
4 Cloves of Garlic
1 Tsp Salt
Method
1. Roast the Melon Seeds for a few minutes
2. Combine the ingredients in a grinder to forma thick paste
And now for the Pizza. I would have loved to bake a pizza from scratch, but using a pre-baked pizza base is much quicker and easy.
Pizza Ingredients
6-8 inch Pizza Base
2 Tbsp Basil sauce
1 Cup Sliced Onions
1 Tbs Chilli flakes
2 Cups Mozzarella Cheese
1 Cup Diced Paneer or cottage cheese
1 Tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp Lemon Juice
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Method
1. Prepare a marinade of Black Pepper, Lemon Juice, Salt, and Olive oil
2. Mix the Paneer in the marinade and set aside
3. Pre-heat the oven at 210 C
4. Poke the Pizza base with a fork and apply the Basil sauce
5. Cover the sauce with mozzarella cheese
6. Top the cheese with onions and Paneer
7. Bake the Pizza for 10 min or until the cheese bubbles
8. Cut and serve.
Pizza is like Ice Cream. You can’t say No to a pizza. With lots of stringy cheese, I am sure there are only a few who can resist this temptation. And its not just us humans who find a pizza irresistible. My friends Mikey and Raph too cannot go without a pizza for long. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a must-watch action packed movie during the Summers. Watching Splinter, the sensei mutant rat, discipline the turtle brothers and teach them the combat techniques was riveting.
If you haven’t seen any movie from this franchise, it is definitely a must-watch if you see yourself as Asian fighting fan.
