The Plot
Mariela, brilliantly portrayed by Valentina Andrade, is determined to leave Venezuela and secure an au pair job in the United States. Her luck changes when she meets Chase and Lori Collins, played by D. Adam Jamieson and Dawn Nagazina, respectively. After a successful video interview, Mariela is hired to care for their young daughter, Abbey, portrayed by Isla Spencer, and moves into their home. However, Mariela soon realizes that the seemingly ideal family has a dark side.
As Mariela and Abbey are playing a harmless game of hide and seek, a mysterious man breaks into the house and warns Mariela that things are not as they seem. Disturbed by this encounter, Mariela starts noticing peculiarities about the Collins family, from Lori’s constant cough attacks to a secret locked door in Chase’s office. Worried about Lori’s health, Mariela confides in her new friend, Sarah, portrayed by Jamie Shelnitz, who happens to be a nurse. However, when Sarah discovers the real reason Mariela was hired, her life is tragically cut short by Chase.
Alone and filled with suspicion, Mariela becomes increasingly wary of her employers. With Sarah missing and Lori’s health deteriorating, Mariela must uncover the truth before it’s too late. Will she realize that she holds the key to saving Lori’s life and unravel the dark secrets hidden within the Collins family?
