As if there is not enough cricket or cricket movies, here’s another one – an action-adventure film build around the stars of the game. Music of Dishoom is composed by Pritam. I have liked Pritam’s previous albums, but this one doesn’t seem up there. Here’s my music review of Dishoom songs.
Dishoom Music Review
The Dishoom music album has six tracks that are fast paced and have a similar tempo. The kind of tracks you will want to play somewhere in the background when you are engaged in a repetitive task.
Music: Pritam
Artists: Jonita Gandhi, Amit Mishra, Nakash Aziz, Raftar, Shahid Mallya, Abhijet Sawant
Label: T-Series
Soundtrack
- SAU TARAH KE
- TOH DISHOOM
- JAANEMAN AAH
- ISHQA
- SAU TARAH KE (REVISITED)
- JAANEMAN AAH (FILM VERSION)
The music seems appropriate for the movie genre. But the true test is will the album perform well outside of the theaters. Toh Dishoom sung by Raftaar and Shahid Mallya begins with a mix of Rap style vocals and an upbeat background track. The music would work well as a theme but the vocals seem out of place, although it builds the right tempo for the overall sentiment of the song.
Jaaneman Aah is forgettable. The music reminds of a lot of similar 90s senseless tracks, especially Govinda movies. The music is bland and there's nothing new here. Mayur Puri gives senseless Hinglish lyrics which fit right into the Govinda movies of 90s. The same cannot be said about Ishqa, however. Pritam uses ektara in an introduction that interests you and invites you to listen to more of the track. Kumaar gives rhyming lyrics that you can listen to more than once. Which is true in case of Sau Tarah Ke too. The Revisited version of the song is not that much different, but vocals by Abhijeet makes it much more better. MovieRecipe Picks: Ishqa, Sau tarah Ke (Revisited) MovieRecipe Verdict: You could add a couple of songs that you will like to listen to once in a while, but there is no chance of this one becoming your favorite album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-y6LctqSCY
