Dhanak Music Review: Dhanak Songs Online

Dhanak Music Review

Larger than life performances on screen often raise larger than life expectations from our on-screen heroes. Children are one of the most susceptible lot in the audience. Pari is just one such girl, In Dhanak. Dhanak means Rainbow.

Pari has promised her little brother that she will get his eyesight back by the time he is 10. An ardent fan of Shahrukh Khan, Pari sees that the actor is conducting an eye donation camp across the main land on the other end of the country. Convinced that her hero will help her get his brother’s eyesight back, Pari embarks on a mission to reach the eye-donation camp, with her brother in tow.

Music Review

The album is a mix of Rock and Folk compositions. You will not get the typical Bollywood party and romance numbers here. The tracks are more in the Lucky Ali style melodious compositions that will slide into your playlist gradually.

Rap and Hip-Hop makes it to the album here too. Its popularity seems to be catching up with everyone here, but I am glad that a least the lyrics of the rap interludes are more meaningful and stick to the social message philosophy that kick-started the whole Rap/Hip-Hop trend in the US.

The title song, Dhanak, is a lullaby style song that we rarely find in Bollywood soundtracks now. Monali Thakur sings the song well with the right emotions. The use of Ektara gives most of the tracks a folksy feel that gels right with the girls hike through Rajasthan.

Tapas Relia mixes modern instruments and western music sounds well with Indian instruments to create melodious tracks that are also fast-paced and lift your mood. Will you listen to this music out of the theaters? The music surely has the potential to grow on you, and will be appreciated by fusion music lovers. There is very little to find fault in the soundtrack. I will strongly recommend that you give them a listen a couple of times.
