The cold war era spy thriller is back on Sundance after two years for another installment. Deutschland 86 TV Show Plot
Deutschland 83 was set against the real culture wars and political events of Germany in the 1980s. The drama followed Martin Rauch – the 24-year-old East German native – pulled from the world as he knew it and sent to the West as an undercover spy for the Stasi foreign service. Hiding in plain sight in the West German army, he gathered the secrets of NATO military strategy.
In the second season or Deutschland 86 Martin Rauch, long banished to Africa for his sins in 1983, is called back into the field. Dark deals and a dangerous mission will lead him to South Africa, Angola, Libya, Paris, West Berlin and finally back to East Berlin, where he must make an impossible decision.
