Designated Survivor Season 2 Plot

In Season Two of the hit ABC drama Designated Survivor, Kiefer Sutherland returns as Tom Kirkman, a lower-level cabinet member who is suddenly appointed President of the United States after a catastrophic attack on the U.S. Capitol during the State of the Union.

Now, one year later, President Kirkman finds his feet as commander in chief as he closes the ring on the terrorists who destroyed the Capitol and manages the daily flow of crises inside the West Wing. He’ll take on some of the world’s most urgent and controversial matters with the help of his aides.

Designated Survivor Season 2 Review

Designated Survivor season 2 begins with a bang and Kirkman is in the thick of things from the word go. The crises at the White House are ever present and support team is trying hard to get the polls up for the struggling president. The new addition – Political Director – doesn’t seem as likable as polished as the rest of the team. However, we can hope that he will get better as the season progresses.

Patrick Lyod is back in the US and is planning something big. For fans of the first season, there is more of that in Season 2 with everyone a bit plumper and older.

Now, one year into office, Kirkman is a Commander-in-Chief determined to rebuild the Capitol and capture the terrorists behind the catastrophic attack on the United States. When Ukrainian nationalists hijack a Russian Air flight, the president is faced with a hostage situation in which his diplomatic skills are put to the test.

When a missile intended to bring water to stranded astronauts in space is hacked, President Kirkman must work with Russia and enlists the help of Dr. Andrea Frost (Kim Raver) to help save lives and find out who is behind the hack.
