Anno? 1290. In the medieval English town of Stonebridge, Lady Catherine (Birdy) is the youngest daughter of Lord Rollo and Lady Aislinn.
Her playground is Stonebridge Manor, a home that, like the family, has seen better days. Financially destitute and downright greedy, Rollo sees his daughter as a way out of financial ruin by marrying her to a man rich for money and land.
But Birdy, like all great teenage heroines, is exuberant, intelligent and adventurous, ready to fend off any suitor who shows up in ever more imaginative ways. Her imagination, defiance and deep belief in her right to independence put her on a collision course with her parents.
