Black Lightning Plot

Jefferson Pierce is a guy with many faces. He is a past Olympic athlete, regarded educationalist and a father of two. He is also Black Lightning, superpowered guardian of Freeland with the capability to sense and harness electricity.

Jefferson is not the only one with powers and different faces. His oldest girl, Anissa Pierce (Nafessa Williams) is a medical scholar, part-time tutor and devoted social activist. She is also the super hero known as Thunder who has the ability to radically increase her density, giving her invulnerability and super power for as long as she can restrain her breath.

Lastly, Jefferson’s youngest daughter, Jennifer Pierce (China Anne McClain), is a fierce teen who acquired her father’s athletic endowments but not his desire to be an sportsperson. Jennifer also acquired super powers. Her body produces pure electrical energy and she possesses the potential to be more mighty than Anissa or Jefferson.

Lynn Stewart (Christine Adams) is Jefferson’s ex-wife but they are nonetheless very much in love in addition to chipping in on the load as co-parents. She’s also an gifted medical researcher who is fast becoming an authority in metahuman medicine. Jointly, the Pierce family faces the challenges of the declined city community that is the imaginary city of Freeland, including crooked officials and a threatening gang that calls itself The 100. Worse, Tobias Whale (Marvin Jones III), a villainous gangster, plagues this city and increasingly, metahumans with superpowers will prey upon the city, too. Luckily, the family has partners in their fight, Jefferson’s surrogate father and a past covert superspy, Peter Gambi (James Remar), as well as Jefferson’s ally and neighbor, the committed and thoroughly honest Deputy Police Chief Henderson (Damon Gupton).
