Barbershop is back after a gap of 12 years with The Next Cut and is all set to address the current social issues with flair, humor, and addition of some new characters and perspectives. Ice Cubes’s Barber shop has gone coed in the latest edition with a team of beauticians and cosmetologists on he team, along with new female customers walking into the shop.

Fans of the original Barbershop movies will love the familiarity of the neighborhood hang-out where folks discuss everything from whats happening in their homes or the state of the nation. The familiarity the views love, however, gets too familiar the the story goes back to Calvin wanting to move out of the troubles Chicago neighborhood – a theme that has been a recurrent feature in the earlier versions of the movie.
But in spite of its repetitive plot line, the movie progresses with time and age of the crew. The movie handles current, and more weighty issues in a thoughtful, harmless and entertaining way, says Mark Olsen of the Los Angeles Times.
