Andhra style onion chutney is special. I loved this dense sticky chutney with Idli or Dosa, but it was never made at home. This meant that I could taste this chutney only when visiting friends or in a hotel.

I had almost forgotten about this chutney when we moved to Pune, until it was served at a neighborhood restaurant, which has now shut shop. So with help of a few recipes from other blogs and the taste that I could still remember, I tried to recreate the chutney.
