Alex Strangelove movie story revolves around Alex Truelove. Student body president with a 4.0 GPA, Alex has everything going for him. A perfect score, a steady girlfriend and a solid plan to lose it before the school year is over.
But when he is invited to a party and coerced by his friends to shed his inhibitions, Alex readily agrees. Here, he meets Elliot, a kid from the other side of the town and gay. As they talk and mess around, Elliot takes Alex on a rollercoaster journey of sexual exploration that muddies the waters for Alex as he questions his sexual identity.
Suddenly, life is not as simple as it was for Alex. With his girlfriend breathing down his neck to take it to the next level, and his own doubts getting the best of him, Alex has a big decision to make.
