Miracle Road by Emily March: Review

Miracle Road is set in the small mountain town of Eternity Springs in Colorado. It’s a magical place where people find new hope, friendships are nurtured and love blooms. Emily March has delivered a perfect feel good romance just in time for the holidays, right along other Christmas releases like Janet Dailey’s Merry Christmas, Cowboy and Debbie Macomber’s Starry Night.

Diner Impossible Book Review

Lucca Romano is a NBA player turned college coach. He cannot get past a tragedy he endured, and is unhappy that he is a huge success while other unfortunate ones have to despair for life. In an uncharacteristic moment, he has a very public meltdown and walks away, leaving his life behind.
Hope Montgomery has experienced the worst grief a mother could possibly bear. And she is living through hell everyday. She lives in Eternity Springs and works as a teacher, doing any number of odd jobs to keep busy.

The Romano family has overcome some recent challenges and some of them live in Eternity Springs. They manage to rope Lucca in for a visit, and Lucca ends up living next door to Hope. The grumpy Lucca gets into many arguments with Hope, but is also attracted to her. They discover a mutual love for star gazing. With a struggling high school basketball team, it is inevitable that Lucca is asked to coach them. Will he be able to handle doing something that reminds him of his darkest hour?

I loved this book for a lot of reasons. There are many characters, and they all have a purpose and all are different enough right from the Sheriff brother, recently widowed mother, ex cop sister, motorcycle riding local old lady, rich ranchers – the list goes on. There is a lot of friendship and love to be found in these pages. Since it is the season to forgive, we see the characters gradually accept some changes in their life. The climax builds up for the ultimate Christmas surprise.

Miracle Road is a must read in my opinion. It is also a good early gift, or a Secret Santa gift for a coworker or friend. Enjoy this book with a glass of eggnog wearing your favorite red shirt, looking up at the sky at Orion.
