While he may not be your typical ‘chocolate boy’ hero with girls swooning at his one glimpse, Nawazuddin has proved time and again that he is an actor who can handle a variety of roles. After Raman Raghav 2.0 and Mom this year, the versatile actor is back in another role as a contract killer in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz. The movie was embroiled in controversy after the CBFC suggested 48 cuts, but has now been given a green light and releases on August 25 2017.

Bollywood has presented many movies around contract killing and underworld. But these are mostly set in Mumbai and depicted the glamorous side of the organised crime world more than the conditions of the foot soldiers. Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is set in a rural world and shows the other side of the world of crime. The movie follows the main character Babu, his aspirations, his past, and the reasons and conditions that made him a criminal. Viewers will see the difficulties and realities of life that make people criminals, but at the root of it they too know that they are in the wrong. Romance, humor, and a bit of thriller aspect, however, gives the movie the right ingredients to make it work in the commercial movies arena.
