Tim Allen ( of ‘Home Improvement’ fame) is Scott Calvin, a single father of a young boy who manages to hurt Santa Claus. This immediately puts into effect the Santa Clause, requiring Allen to don the red suit and take on responsibility of delivering all the gifts before Christmas.
The Santa Clause
Director: John Pasquin
Stars: Tim Allen, Judge Reinhold, Wendy Crewson
This Christmas movie is built on an interesting plot. Scott discovers the North Pole, encounters some smart alecky elves, and gradually takes on Santa’s attributes. He has a long beard in no time, and quite a paunch. He gets fatter and fatter, and blames it all on being Santa Claus. Who’s going to believe that! Scott bumbles his way through all his Santa duties, squeezing through chimneys while gorging on cookies.
I am sure this is a fun watch with the family. There is an abundance of Christmas spirit and Christmas motifs. This is a 90s movie, so can be nostalgic for 30 somethings. Overall, nice to watch in a group.
