American Gods TV show on Starz is a Fantasy-Drama based on the book by the same name by Neil Gaiman. The series follows Shadow, who has been released from jail after the death of his wife in a car accident and meets a mysterious man called Wednesday who takes him across the US, meeting different people as the truth slowly unravels.

American Gods TV Show Story
An epic battle between the Old Gods and the new American Gods forms the crux of the story. Immigrants from world over traveled to the US and with them brought their mythology and Gods. However, over the centuries, their belief in these Gods has eroded. The new gods, technology, media, and others that have invaded our lives are growing stronger. The only way to defeat them is make people believe in the Old Gods again.
The new TV show begins with shadow who is waiting for his release from prison and be with his wife. But his dreams come down crashing when his wife dies in a car accident. On his way to the funeral, he meets a man called Wednesday, who hires him as his bodyguard and takes him across the US.
But there is a lot going on behind the scenes that Shadow is not aware of. Wednesday is preparing for a battle. And Shadow is a critical part of his mission to defeat American Gods. The series follows these two as Shadow slowly realizes that he is a God and most events in his life are fabricated for a specific reason.
Will Shadow agree to keep helping Wednesday and be still a part of his mission after he realizes that he has been played all his life?
