In February 2016 Indian Armed Forces joined a group of select countries that allow women in combat roles. The Test Case, though not a story of any one specific cadet, tells the challenges that women face in one of the most male dominated professions in the world. With Nimrat Kaur and Atul Kulkarni, the new web series tells the story of the first woman cadet inducted and trained for combat. Nimrat kaur was last seen playing the role of Ranjit Katyal’s wife in the movie Airlift.

The Test Case Story
The Test Case story revolves around the first Indian woman cadet recruited in the Indian Army and her training for the elite Maroon Beret. The Maroon Beret in Indian Army is worn by 50th Parachute Brigade, the President’s Body Guard, and the Special Forces Unit.
The series covers the social debate over women’s ability to face combat and perform under stress. It raises various issues like discrimination in the Armed forces, the social perception, and various other concerns.
The series will see Capt. Shikha Sharma joining the elite Maroon Berets training. It builds on her fight with people around her who believe she is not suitable for the role. Her struggles with fellow soldiers who believe that a woman will get special privileges. Her zeal to be accepted by her commanders and training officers who will make her life difficult every day and refuse to accept her as part of the elite group.
