Half Girlfriend is romance-drama based on the book by Chetan Bhagat by the same name. His earlier movie adaptation – 3 Idiots – had captured nation’s attention with its unusual and satirical take on the Indian education system. However, his last, Two States, didn’t do that well. Half Girlfriend Music Review
Baarish comes with an interesting blend of Indian instruments. The Santoor intro really hooks you on and comes across as a fresh, cool breeze. However the rest of the song fails to keep you hooked as it progresses in an uneven pace. We can say the same about Thodi Der, which is OK to listen to but not necessarily melodious.
Tu Hi Hai comes with a traditional rhythm familiar to most sufi song listeners and is perhaps the first track in the album that can be labeled as melodious, but still won’t linger in your head or get you humming. Phir Bhi Tumko Chaahunga builds on Arijit’s style of singing and his fans will love another staple rendition from the singer.
I am not a fan of Bollywood Hip-Hop compositions, but this one from Rishi Rich does a great job and actually feels like a Hip-Hop track, the lyrics aren’t that catchy though.
