In a resurrection attempt, Universal Monster Cinematic Universe will release The Mummy starring Tom Cruise in summer of 2017. The Mummy reboot will be set in current time and will be a fresh take on the original franchise. The new monster series has promised to revive classics like Count Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man , beginning with The Mummy.

The Mummy Story
The army is helping archaeologist return a crypt buries in the desert back to the US. The crypt holds a mummified body of an ancient princess who was killed with some outstanding issues. While on their journey back in a cargo plane, strange things begin to happen. The plane is attacked by a group of bats and goes down, killing almost everyone on board.
However, Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) comes back to life after his experience in the world of dead, monsters, and gods. With this knowledge, he must now team-up with Annabelle (Jenny Halsey) to contain princess Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella) mummy and save the city folks.
