Dear Zindagi Music Review

The album begins with  peppy Love You Zindagi sung by Jasleen Royal and Amit Trivedi. A feel-good song sung in the right mood by Jasleen, her vocals add the perfect tone to the song and capture Alia Bhatt’s onscreen presence. The piano interludes remind you the haunting tune of Titanic, but just for a couple of moments. If you want more energy, you can go for the Club Mix sung by Alia Bhatt, who is flawless.

Tu Hi Hai continues the first song in spirit and keeps the light, slightly happy mood going for you. The guitar intro and interludes are both melodious enough to keep you interested in the song. However, the words seem quite bland.

If Tu Hi Hai makes guitar fans happy, Taarefon Se is for Jazz lovers. Amit Trivedi uses Saxophone to give this romantic number something that you can play for your special dance. Arijit Singh croons this one with right emotions in mind. The words too do not fail the song here and you won’t mind this one on your easy listening playlist for 2016.

I am not a fan of Hinglish songs. Just Go to Hell comes with an average Pop composition with all the energy from Sunidhi Chauhan’a vocals. Vishal Dadlanis Let’s Break Up too does not enthuse much and seems out of place in an otherwise mellow soundtrack.

The remix of hit track from Sadma, Ae Zindagi Gale Lagale comes across quite well. Arijit Singh and the composition brings the intensity a notch down from the original song and also slows down the pace. But I am a Suresh Wadkar fan and will take the original over this version. But the Arijit version is still better than Alia’s which messes up the song real bad. It is a difficult song to sing for any one and you can’t really fault Alia for it. The overpowering electronic sounds were obviously necessary to mask the shortfall in the vocals.

MovieRecipe Verdict: An average album with acouple of good songs.

MovieRecipe Picks: Taarefon Se
