Arrival Movie Story
There are mysterious aircraft landing in all the major cities of the world, from Hong Kong to the US. As always, we do not know if the visitors are friendly or hostile. There is no communication attempt. No radio signal or no visual distortions. The military is at a loss.
This is where the lead character comes in. Embroiled in personal turmoil, the government brings in an expert linguist Louise Banks. Her job is to investigate and find a way to communicate with the spidery aliens.
Arrival Movie Reviews
Arrival has almost perfect ratings from most critics. But the negative reviews are strong enough to make you think. What most reviewers agree on is that there is nothing new to the movie. The problem of communicating with aliens has been covered in many movies like Contact and Independence Day before.
With no action, and science taking a backseat, the movie is dull. Although the cinematography will keep you wowed, the movie fails to fit the Si-Fi movie mold in any way.
Overall, the consensus seems to be that the movie has key elements lacking and we have had better movies on the same topic before. So you can give this one a miss at the theaters and wait for the digital release.
