Rum is a Tamil Horror movie starring Hrishikesh, Narain, and Sanhita Shetty and is scheduled to release in 2016. The film makers released a teaser trailer earlier this year along with a couple of songs that did well with the audiences. The album opens with Hola Amigo that has lazy Hip-Hop rhythms and mixes traditional Indian percussion instruments some Rap that surprisingly works much better that Bollywood Rap. If Hola Amigo is a bit too slow for you, try Hola Senorita, but I recommend the earlier version. Peiyophobilia is a fast number that will get you tapping your feet, but is not something that can get addictive. But what will catch your attention is Pori Pathi Vizhum. I am not a fan of Hindi Rap, but Anirudh somehow makes it sound good and does a much better job once again than Bollywood composers here.
Kadvulae Vidai is a romantic track that uses Sitar interludes and mixes the soothing strings with modern instruments in a melodious interplay. You will want this song to be on your easy listening playlist. This the only slow-paced track in the album. The Reprise version comes with a bit of echo effect and is equally good.
