Wajah Tum Ho Review
I will start with the good. The movie has a very good story and holds your attention most of the time. The screenplay ensures enough twists and turns that will keep you engaged, in spite of all the flaws in the movie.
As was evident from the trailer the script fails miserably and brings it down. Sharman Joshi does a decent job, but his overacting in snippets and poor, cliched dialogues makes his character of a sharp, honest police officer weak. The movie also packs four songs in the short 130 min running time, most of which happen in imaginary sequences and have the characters stripping down. The movie could have done without the excessive sensuality.
For all the interesting twists and turns, the end is too melodramatic. I cannot talk more about the flaws without giving away the killer so you will have to suffice with vague references. The director seems confused about what he wanted the movie to be. An emotional revenge-drama, a serial killing thriller, or an intense murder mystery?
In an attempt to put all the commercial aspects and filmy masala, the movie loses the punch that the story could have with meaningful dialogues and better performances.
P.S. You can spot the killer in the first introduction of the character, if you look closely.
MovieRecipe Verdict: A good story with enough twists and turns brought down by poor dialogues and a melodramatic ending.
