Aaron Lewis was in the news recently for his statements about the current trends of Country music. Now that could just be for the benefit of his album, but Country music lovers will not find much wrong in what he had to say. I started listening to Country music only a few years back – I didn’t know Kenny Rogers’ was Country Music as a kid – with O’Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack and was hooked to the genre. Then it was Johnny Cash, before exploring other greats like Hank Williams.
With these performers as the stalwarts of Country music, a lot of current Country music doesn’t sound like Country, you have to agree. Anyway, with Sinner, Aaron Lewis gets all the Country music ingredients right and Country music fans ought to love this new album that has raced up the charts.
Sinner soundtrack has 11 tracks that you can’t stop listening to. Aaron Lewis defines what Country music means to him with That Ain’t Country early in the album and sticks to this mantra. I like the acoustic version though. I guess the song is a good starting point for anyone trying to understand Country music. With simple, meaningful words that will touch your heart Aaron Lewis gives you the taste of American Country music.
