The Plot
In the backdrop of 1983 Chicago, Robbie Jones, finds herself trapped in a dead-end job and an unfulfilling marriage. However, her life takes an exciting turn when she meets her charismatic neighbor, Ty Warner. In a serendipitous encounter, Ty suggests they venture into a business selling stuffed Himalayan cats. Their professional partnership quickly evolves into a fiery romance that fuels their entrepreneurial ambitions.
Fast forward to 1993, where lighting designer Sheila Harper, portrayed by Sarah Snook, finds herself captivated by the wealthy businessman Ty Warner. As Ty renovates his vast mansion, he wins over Sheila and her two young daughters with his charm. Sheila’s daughters even contribute creatively to Ty’s line of mini plush toys.
Meanwhile, Maya Kumar, a 17-year-old college student, joins Ty Inc. for a minimum-wage temp job. However, Maya’s marketing savvy and grasp of the emerging internet revolutionize the company’s under-stuffed animals, transforming them into a global phenomenon and catapulting revenues from millions to billions.
