Hallmark Movies & Mysteries brings a rare romance drama on the channel as love blooms in Spring Breakthrough early on May.
The movie follows a single mother who suddenly loses everything and yet finds herself opening up to new possibilities just in time.
Monica has spent years slogging alone at a job that she loves for her daughter Vivian. She is now ready to welcome Vivian for the spring break as that is the tradition they have been following for years now.
But just before her arrival, Monica loses her job. To top it up, Vivian tells her that she won’t be coming for the break this year. She has fallen in love and would be marrying Shawn soon. Monica reluctantly agrees to travel to her daughter for their engagement, but she secretly plans to break up the engagement. She thinks Vivian’s too young to marry and is throwing her life away.
On the way to the engagement, she meets Clark. As it happens, Clark is also Shawn’s godfather. The two spar over little things all through the journey and Monica is upset by his juvenile attitude.
But she soon begins to see the other side of this jovial man and begins to have a change of heart. Will she open her heart once again? or will she keep being sour and rigid? More importantly, will she see that love doesn’t necessarily have to be end of a good career.
All American actor Akono Dixos stars as Shawn with Rhyon Nicole Brown as Vivian. Keesha Sharp plays Monica with Demetrius Grosse as Clark in the Hallmark Romance.
