La Brea follows a family torn apart by an unusual geological event as they try to understand and find a way out of the unusual problem.
The series begins with a catastrophic events in the city of Los Angles. A massive sink hole suddenly opens up in the middle of the city and gobbles up many houses and buildings with it.
Those who are trapped inside the whole soon realize that they are transported to a dangerous primeval land where threats abound. With nowhere to go, these residents must now band together if they want to survive.
Meanwhile those on land try to understand the phenomenon and get those trapped put of the sink hole. We follow a family torn apart by this event as they struggle to find their way back to each other.
